About LakeShore Bicycles & Fitness

LakeShore Bicycle & Fitness is proud to have been serving Jacksonville since 1961. LakeShore is named for the part of Jacksonville we are located in. Originally the shop sold bicycles, lawnmowers, and included a locksmith. In the mid 1970's the store relocated to it's current location and became one of the original Schwinn Concept Stores. The lawnmowers disappeared.



In 1980, the Fetzer family took over the business and we have been here since. The Store was still a Schwinn Concept store and we continued with their system for many years. As time progressed other brands came along and we were eager to embrace these innovators. We also expanded to three shops because we thought this would better serve our customer.


After several years with the multiple locations, we consolidated back to our original location. We felt that we were spending too much time driving back and forth and not enough time taking care of our customers.


To meet your needs we have expanded our product selection. We now carry Specialized, Waterford, Marin, 3G, Landice, Surly, Louis Garneau, Mount Borah and many other lines bicycles and cycling accessories.
